Google Cloud Plans to Make A5X With NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 Available in November
Google Cloud announced plans for the general availability of A5X bare-metal instances built on NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems in November 2026. It has not yet disclosed the exact date, regions, or pricing.

Google Cloud A5X, new bare-metal instances built on NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 rack systems, are expected to enter general availability in November 2026, according to an announcement on October 21. The service has therefore not yet launched publicly, although the wording of the original blog post’s headline may suggest otherwise.
Google Cloud had already said in March 2026 that it intended to offer Vera Rubin NVL72 systems in the second half of the year. The October announcement adds a planned general availability timeframe to that earlier commitment, without specifying an exact date in November.
What Google Cloud A5X Is Expected to Include
A5X is expected to integrate NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, ConnectX-9 SuperNICs network interfaces, the Google Cloud Virgo Network, and Google Cloud liquid cooling. It is a bare-metal offering, meaning infrastructure provided without a standard virtualization layer between the customer and the hardware.
Google and NVIDIA also discuss extensive scalability and use for advanced AI workloads, including agentic systems and reinforcement learning. However, these capabilities and benefits represent plans and vendors’ marketing claims; independent results from real-world A5X deployments are not yet available.
EMEA and Data Residency
Google Cloud said it wants to expand availability to new local regions in EMEA. The stated reasons are customer requirements for data residency and digital sovereignty.
The company has not announced specific European locations, their deployment schedule, or access rules for A5X in these regions. It is therefore not yet possible to confirm whether, or when, the new infrastructure will also be available to customers in Slovakia or neighboring countries.
What Is Still Missing
The announcement does not include pricing, a list of supported cloud regions, available configurations, or information about capacity limits. It is also unclear how customers will access the instances—for example, whether they will be a routinely orderable service or an offering with limited capacity.
If Google Cloud meets the November timeline, A5X will be among the first publicly available cloud offerings based on NVIDIA Vera Rubin rack systems. The practical terms of use, however, will only become clear after the publication of pricing, regional availability, and the first independent measurements of performance, power consumption, and the service’s actual capacity.
What to Watch in November
- the exact A5X general availability date,
- supported regions and hardware configurations,
- pricing, capacity limits, and access conditions,
- confirmation of European deployments and data residency parameters,
- independent benchmarks after the service launches.
