NVIDIA Joins EU RAISE Initiative for AI in Science
NVIDIA is among the first organizations in the RAISE AI in Science Enablers initiative. It is expected to provide European scientists with software, training, expertise and pathways to computing resources.

NVIDIA in RAISE is among the first corporate commitments in the European Commission’s new AI in Science Enablers initiative. The program was launched on October 15, 2026, in Dublin as part of RAISE and is intended to make it easier for scientists to access artificial intelligence models, computing power, data, software and expertise.
The mechanism is based on voluntary non-monetary contributions from companies and foundations. According to the Commission, NVIDIA has pledged a combination of publicly available scientific AI software and models, practical training, technical expertise, and pathways to computing resources and research support.
NVIDIA in RAISE: Software, Courses and Technical Support
NVIDIA’s commitment is not limited to infrastructure. The company said that new materials from its Deep Learning Institute program are freely downloadable, openly licensed and available without registration or a fee. They consist of study materials and exercises intended for working with AI technologies.
However, the free availability of the materials does not automatically mean that all practical exercises can be run for free. The computing environment needed for the exercises may be charged for, depending on the environment selected. Neither the Commission nor NVIDIA has yet disclosed the volume of GPU capacity, cloud credits, budget or precise eligibility rules for applicants.
The timing of when individual computing resources will be available and the share of researchers who will receive free access also remain unknown. Free educational materials have been confirmed, not generally free computing infrastructure.
Connection to European AI Factories
NVIDIA says it is working with cloud partners and national AI factories in France, Spain and Sweden. The goal is to create pathways to European sovereign computing capacity for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
The RAISE initiative is intended to connect EU public funding with private-sector resources. For the European Commission, the commitment means another provider of tools, training and expert support alongside public supercomputing programs. At the same time, NVIDIA is expanding its ecosystem in European scientific research.
The practical scope of the program can be assessed only after the conditions for access to cloud, GPU and related services are published. It will also be important to see which AI factories and supercomputing centers open NVIDIA Inception programs or other related schemes. Measurable data on allocated resources, the number of supported teams and the results of pilots in France, Spain and Sweden are still lacking.
NVIDIA in RAISE is therefore, at this stage, a specific pledge of tools, training and technical support, while the extent of access to the computing capacity itself has not yet been specified.
