Anthropic Launches Claude Frontier Academy With Initial $100 Million Commitment
Anthropic announced a selective program for professionals deploying Claude in companies. The goal is to train 10,000 people by the end of 2027.

Anthropic announced Claude Frontier Academy on October 2, 2026, a program focused on professionals who will deploy the Claude model in large organizations. The company says it has made an initial financial commitment of $100 million and plans to train 10,000 so-called Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027.
The first cohorts are already underway in San Francisco, New York, and London. Participation is not based on individual applications; participants are nominated by their organizations.
Claude Frontier Academy Begins With a Residency Program
The academy’s first program is the Frontier Deployed Engineer Residency. It has three parts: four days of intensive training, a subsequent 12-week residency deploying Claude within the participant’s home organization, and a final assessment.
The format focuses on the practical deployment of Claude in organizations. Anthropic emphasizes the need for people who can lead these implementations.
Among the companies involved in the first cohorts, Anthropic lists Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and Novo Nordisk.
An Initial Commitment to the Claude Ecosystem
The announcement shows that, alongside developing its own models, Anthropic also wants to invest in preparing people who will introduce them in large organizations. For enterprise adoption of generative AI, access to the model alone is not enough; organizations need experts capable of integrating it into workflows and internal systems.
Claude Frontier Academy is selective, and participation is tied to nomination by an organization.
A Plan, Not a Finished Result
According to Anthropic, the $100 million is an initial commitment. The company has not yet disclosed the exact allocation of spending or what portion of the funds will actually be used. Likewise, the goal of 10,000 trained Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027 represents the company’s plan, not an achieved result.
Anthropic expects the first Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer designations to be awarded in early 2027. It will be important to monitor whether the company subsequently publishes the number of accepted participants, funding rules, and specific measurable results from individual cohorts. It also remains an open question whether the academy will eventually become available to organizations outside the current group.
