Google Vids Adds Free 1080p AI Videos for Personal and Workspace Accounts
Google integrated the Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model into Vids. Users can create and edit 1080p AI video clips without a separate fee, but personal accounts are limited to six clips per month.

Google Vids AI videos in 1080p are now available to users with personal Google accounts and Google Workspace accounts at no additional cost. On September 23, 2026, Google announced the integration of the Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model into its Vids tool, which is designed for creating videos with artificial intelligence.
The update makes it possible to create new AI scenes in Full HD resolution and upscale existing AI clips to 1080p. Google is also adding clip-length controls and the ability to extend individual scenes in Vids.
Google Vids AI videos have a limit for personal accounts
Free access does not mean unlimited use. Personal Google accounts are limited to six AI video clips per month. This limit is shared with the AI avatar feature.
Availability for Google Workspace accounts may vary depending on the account type and the organization’s settings. In work or school environments, an administrator may restrict or disable access to the feature. Therefore, it is not accurate to describe the service as being available to every user without exception.
1080p generation and scene extension
The Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model expands work with generated scenes in Google Vids through three specific options: creating new 1080p clips, upscaling existing AI clips to 1080p, and controlling duration, including extending a scene.
These features are integrated directly into Vids, Google’s tool for assembling and editing videos. Users do not pay an additional fee for generation through this feature itself, but use is subject to the limits of the relevant account type.
There is currently an inconsistency in Google’s documentation. An older help page still lists 720p resolution for some procedures. However, Google’s newer announcement and its limits page confirm 1080p support with the rollout of Omni 1.1.
SynthID labels clips created with Omni 1.1
Every video clip created by the Omni 1.1 model in Google Vids receives an invisible SynthID digital watermark. This is Google’s mechanism for labeling content created with artificial intelligence.
The watermark is not visible during normal clip playback, but it is intended to make it possible to identify the clip’s AI origin. Google describes adding it as a mandatory part of clips created with the new model in Vids.
Rollout began on September 23
Google says it is making the feature available gradually starting September 23, 2026. This means it may not appear immediately for every supported account. Actual availability may also depend on the region, account type, and administrator settings in the case of Workspace.
Further developments will show whether Google adjusts the monthly limit of six clips for personal accounts and when it aligns its older documentation with the 1080p features announced for the Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model.
