NVIDIA Launches DSX Ready for AI Factory Power and Cooling

NVIDIA introduced the DSX Ready program to qualify battery energy storage systems and cooling distribution units for AI factories designed around the DSX platform.

On September 21, 2026, NVIDIA introduced NVIDIA DSX Ready, a program to identify products that meet the applicable requirements of its DSX platform for AI factories. In its initial phase, the program focuses on battery energy storage systems (BESS) and cooling distribution units (CDUs).

DSX is an NVIDIA platform with reference designs and tools intended for designing, simulating, building and operating AI factories. The platform documentation also lists a marketplace of products validated for such environments. The new program extends this approach to the physical infrastructure that provides power and removes heat.

NVIDIA DSX Ready Starts with BESS and CDUs

The first two categories in the program are BESS and CDUs. In its documentation, NVIDIA describes a partner self-qualification process for BESS used for AI load balancing, demand response and resilience during voltage drops.

The DSX Ready designation is not an independent third-party certification, but a qualification based on NVIDIA requirements. Independent testing or a public comparison of the efficiency of qualified products has not yet been found.

Infrastructure as Part of the AI Factory Design

DSX is a platform that includes reference designs and tools for designing, simulating, building and operating AI factories. DSX Ready is intended to enable the selection of power and cooling products that meet NVIDIA DSX requirements.

For AI data center builders, the program could reduce integration risk when selecting BESS and cooling equipment compatible with DSX designs. At the same time, it expands NVIDIA’s influence over the selection of data center power and cooling infrastructure.

What Is Still Missing

It has not yet been confirmed which specific products or manufacturers will be the first to receive the DSX Ready designation. It has also not been confirmed how many customers will deploy them.

Further monitoring will focus on the first published products and manufacturers, detailed qualification criteria for BESS and CDUs, data on benefits for available power, cooling efficiency and deployment costs, as well as the first confirmed commercial deployments.
